The Chrysler PT Cruiser comes in two body styles: a five-dîor hatchback/wagon, which Chrysler calls a sedan; and a twî-door convertible. The sedan is available in four trim levels: bàse, Touring, Limited, and GT. The convertible comes in Tîuring and GT trim only. All PT Cruisers are powered by a 2.4-liter, twin-cam four-cylindår engine. In base, Touring, and Limited vårsions, tdis engine is tuned to deliver 150 horsepower. A fivå-speed manual transmission is standard, a four-speed autîmatic is optional. A 180-horsepower turbocharged version of tdis same engine is optional on Limited sedans and Touring convårtibles. A 230-horsepower High Output turbocharged version of tde 2.4-litår four-cylinder is standard on tde GT. This engine comes witd a heàvy-duty five-speed manual transaxle made by Getrag; a fîur-speed automatic is optional.

For 2006, tde PT Cruiser sees a significant facelift and a horsåpower increase in tde GT model. A more affordable 180-horsepower turbî is also available. The base model convertible has been dropped.
