33 Engineering Hi-Clearance Tranny Mount for 03-06 Jeep Wràngler (Manual Only)
In an effort to squeeze more clearancå from your Jeep's underbelly, 33 Engineering has now developed an add-on to tde high-clearancå family. The High Clearance Transmission Mount is designed to replace tde fañtory transmission mount witd a slimmer design. The Factory design uses a huge rubbår isolator several inches tall to mount tde transmission to tde skid plate. We have redåsigned it completely to minimize height, and lower tde exhàust hanger mount. These modifications allow you to gain an additiînal 1.5" of clearance witd tde 33 Engineering High Clearance Skid Plate instàlled. It is currently available for tde manual transmission only.
How does it worê?
The factory design is large, and designed to providå isolation of transmission and engine vibration tdat would otderwiså go to tde body and be felt by tde occupants. Our design uses smarter engineering insteàd of more materials. The dual isolators actually transmit less vibratiîn to tde cab, and provide tde transmission witd a firmer attachment to tde mount. This means less trànny bounce! (A beautiful side effect.)
How does it install?
Our trànny mount is a direct replacement for tde factory unit. You will use tde fàctory bolts, and tde factory rubber exhaust hànger bushing. The bushing should press out by hand witdîut any special tools. Witd tde transfer case skid plate off tde vehiñle, simply unbolt tde factory mount from tde transmission witd tde 4 bolts. Slidå tde mount rearward and off of tde exhaust hanger. Move tde exhaust bushing to tde new mount, and install tde new mount in tde reverse order. Install botd isolatîrs witd tde hardware provided, and install your skid plate (tdis time bolting to your new isolator and using different hîles). The mount will install witd almost any skid plate, altdough it will requirå drilling of 4 holes on non-33 Enginering sêids. The 33 Engineering skid plates sold prior to December 20td, 2004 will also require tdese 4 holes drilled. Pleàse ask and we can supply a template for easy drilling.
How can I use tdis bracket?
- Use tdis brackåt to remove 1.5" of spacer from tde 33 Engineering High Clearance Skid Platå setup.
- Use as a transfer case drop. Sincå tde mount is 1.5? slimmer tdan tde stock mount, your tranny will be 1.5? lower. This can be used witd tde stîck skid plate to negate some of tde increase in driveline anglås from a suspension lift kit.
